# PogWheel > PogWheel is a radial launcher for Windows 10 and 11. Hold a hotkey (Ctrl+Alt+Space by default), a wheel of slices opens under the mouse cursor, point at a slice and let go, and it runs. The user builds every wheel themselves. It works offline, with no account and no telemetry. It is in a private beta with a small group of testers; there is a waitlist at https://pogwheel.com/#waitlist and no public download yet. PogWheel is made by Moin. Contact: moin@pogwheel.com. Website: https://pogwheel.com/ ## How it works - Hold the hotkey and the wheel opens under the cursor. Every wheel can have its own hotkey. - Nudge the mouse toward a slice. The hub in the middle names it and says what it will do. - Release the key and the slice runs. Letting go without pointing at anything does nothing. - On an open wheel: 1 to 9 run a slice, Tab or arrow keys move round the wheel, Enter runs the lit slice, Esc closes it or steps out of a nested wheel, right-click opens the editor on that slice. - Tap mode keeps the wheel open until you click, for people who would rather not hold a key. ## The twelve kinds of slice - Open app or file: an .exe, document, folder or shortcut, with optional arguments. - Open link: any address, in the default browser. - Run command: runs through the shell with no console window. - Send keys: any key combination, sent to the app that was in front. - Type text: snippets, addresses and sign-offs, typed where the cursor was. - Media control: play or pause, next, previous, volume, mute. - Window control: snap to a half, maximize, minimize, centre, keep on top, show the desktop. - System: lock, sleep, screen snip, Task Manager, Settings, Recycle Bin, sign out, restart. - Paste an earlier copy: one of the last few clipboard entries. - Open another wheel: wheels nested inside wheels. - Open notepad: PogWheel's own plain notepad. - Ask Claude about the selection: optional, off by default (see below). ## The editor - 2 to 12 slices per wheel and any number of wheels. - Over a hundred icons, or the real Windows icon of the app a slice opens. - A colour per wheel, per-slice overrides, adjustable size. - Wheels per program: one hotkey can open a different wheel in the browser than in a code editor. - Drag to rearrange, undo and redo, drop a file or link onto a slice, export and import wheels as JSON. - The editor's live preview and the real wheel are drawn by the same code, so what you build is what you get. ## Clipboard history and notes - Ctrl+Alt+V lays out recent copies as numbered slices; slot 1 is the newest. - Clipboard history is kept in memory only, never written to disk, and gone when PogWheel quits. - Copies that an app marks as private, such as a password manager's, are never recorded. - The notepad saves to notes.txt, opens from the tray or a slice, and follows the light or dark theme. ## Optional Claude text action - Select text in any app and flick a Claude slice; the reply replaces the selection or is added after it. Each slice carries its own prompt. - Starter prompts: Make formal, Shorter, Fix grammar, Translate, Explain code, Bullet points. Users choose Opus, Sonnet or Haiku. - Off until turned on. Uses the user's own Anthropic API key, stored encrypted with Windows DPAPI and only sent to Anthropic. - Only the selected text and the slice's prompt are sent. Nothing sent or received is logged or saved. - Never runs in apps the user lists as private. - This is the only part of PogWheel that goes online. ## Privacy - No network calls, no telemetry, no account, apart from Claude slices the user sets up. - Everything PogWheel writes is in %APPDATA%\PogWheel: config.json (wheels and settings, plus config.backup.json), notes.txt, and claude.key (only if an API key is added). - Never written: clipboard history, text sent to Claude, and Claude's replies. - The website has no cookies, analytics or third-party scripts. It stores only waitlist email addresses. ## FAQ - **When can I get it?** A beta is going out to a small group of testers now. Join the waitlist and you'll get one email when the public release is ready. - **What does it cost?** The beta is free. Pricing for the public release hasn't been decided yet, and the waitlist hears first. - **Which versions of Windows?** Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit. It installs for your account only, so there's no admin prompt. - **Is there a Mac or Linux version?** No. PogWheel leans on Windows for its global hotkeys, window control and app icons, so it's Windows-only. - **Does it work offline?** Yes, completely. PogWheel makes no network calls at all unless you turn on Claude slices and add your own key. - **Can I change the hotkey?** Yes. Every wheel can have its own hotkey, and one hotkey can open a different wheel in each program. If you'd rather not hold a key, tap mode keeps the wheel open until you click. - **Can I use it from the keyboard?** Yes. On an open wheel, 1 to 9 run a slice, Tab or the arrows move round it, Enter runs the lit slice and Esc closes it. Right-click a slice to edit it. - **Do I need Claude or an API key?** No. Claude slices are optional and off by default, and a fresh install has none. If you turn them on, you use your own Anthropic API key and Anthropic bills you directly. - **Is my clipboard history saved?** No. It lives in memory and is gone when PogWheel quits. Copies that an app marks as private, like a password manager's, are never recorded. You can switch it off from the tray. - **How do I move my wheels to another PC?** Export them from Settings and import the file on the other PC. Your notes and Claude key are never part of an export. - **How do I uninstall it?** From Windows Settings, under Apps, like any other app. Your wheels stay in %APPDATA%\PogWheel in case you come back; delete that folder to remove them too. - **Who makes PogWheel?** Moin, a one-person studio.
